On the Death of a Friend

The ceaseless rush has passed,

The tension ended.

There was rain,

Waiting

knowing

not believing.

Bewilderment

He hadn’t smiled when we spoke.

(But he never did.)

Some words about life

death.

A joke!

And this it’s punchline.
