United States President Barack Obama signs int...

My reaction to the elections is a bit delayed.  I guess I’m still a little in shock.  Needless to say I did not expect the outcome.  When I discussed it with Professor Levine at UT and he predicted a 50 seat loss in the house I REALLY thought that was impossible, I told him maybe 30 seats.  WOW was I wrong!  So, Renan, you were right and I was wrong.

I still don’t believe the American people have actually bought-in to the Tea Party agenda.  (At least I hope I’m right about that!)  Most Americans just don’t pay that much attention to politics.  Americans are just too wrapped up in their pursuit of “The American Dream” to inform themselves about government or the economy or international affairs or anything else for that matter.
My biggest disappointment is that so many people did not vote, especially the young who put Obama in office.  I can’t understand how people can fail to see what is right in front of them.  It is so obvious that  the collapse of the economy was the result of the Bush policies and  ”trickle-down” economics that the thought that anyone would want to put those who support them into power is simply beyond comprehension. I guess the ability to “remember the past” is so short in this country that it doesn’t even reach back two years.

To bad the Conservatives haven’t been in power since 1910. we could all still be using out houses (liberals gave us sanitation laws) dying at 47 (liberals gave us FDA, USDA, the National Health Institute), be on our own when we were to old to work or disabled and unable to see a doctor if we got sick (liberals gave us Social Security and Medicare), making 22 cents an hour, buying drugs at the pharmacy, not bothering to send our kids to school, not worrying about paying for college, only having to bath once a week and wash our hair once a month, hitching up the wagon once a month to to to the store (if the roads weren’t too muddy), and still enjoying the “good old days.“ You remember those days don’t you? The days before anti-trust laws (when the Rockafellers and the Carnegies owned everything), before FDIC (when bank failures meant you lost all your money), before SCC (when inside trading on wall street was legal), before the VA (when it was tough luck for Veterans who’d been wounded in war), before Unions were legal, before women could vote?

Damm those Liberals anyway….why if conservatives had been in power since 1010 we could all still be serfs and buying indulgences to allow us to sin and still go to heaven!!!
Kick the liberals out, vote conservative and lets get things back to the way they were meant to be!!

Well beyond everyones expectations (except for the folks in New Orleans) the Saints have won and the Colts will have to sneak out of Miami in the middle of the night with their tails between their legs just as they did from Baltimore all those years ago. When I lived in Maryland the Colts were [...]

Let’s see now, a bunch of incompetent, greedy multi-millionaires and billionaires spent the  last 8 years spending millions of dollars lobbying a bunch of millionaires called the Congress of the United States to let them do anything they wanted to our economy and succeeded  in destroying it, and now a lying incompetent multi-millionaire President of the United [...]

Election 08

It occurred to me today that the Obama campaign is failing to address a very big concern of the voters.  The voters of the country have lost all faith in government.  His ideas and plans and policies are right but voters are not hearing from him what they are hearing form the other side and that is [...]
